Sophia & Matthew's prewedding backstage story II
I swept her hair to the side to match her red hand-made chi-pao (made in Taiwan too) as the second look. Virginia TU, our experienced photographer, can turn any ordinary background in this small town into beautiful scene. Street corner, restaurant, store window display, coffee shop … became amazing photo background. Sophia and Mathew were not shy in front of the camera, they expressed themselves quite well whenever Virginia cued them.
I hid Sophia’s long hair to make a curly bob hairstyle for her third look to match the short blue Princess Sweetheart Ruffle Beading dress. The shooting spots were Carmel’s must-visit candy house and bread store. They attentively brought their memorable souvenirs as shooting props. Although those properties might be lost in the future, sweet and beautiful memories will be kept in the pre-wedding photos for a very long time.
We went to the beach for the final spot at sunset. It was quite chilly when onshore wind blew past us, but Sophia insisted to wear bikini swimsuit! We happily ended our whole day work of 10 hours, but I was not tired at all. Thanks for this easy going and hospitable young couple, the project was completed smoothly and came out with good photos. A month later, I saw Sophia posted her pre-wedding images on Facebook. I was so moved when I saw my result. The couple looks so joyful and caring. I wish them happy forever.
第二個造型是將頭髮挽到側邊，搭配也是在台灣手工製作的旗袍好有味道。小鎮裡，不管是街角、餐廳的門口、有特色的櫥窗，甚至是餐廳裡面，都可以是經驗老道的攝影師Virginia拍攝的取材，而很會演的這對夫妻，讓每一張照片好生動，工作起來一點都不累。
第三個造型是將Sophia的長髮收成短髮，配上短蓬裙和她長長的美腿。Yes! 取景就是在麵包店和來Carmel必去的糖果屋。他們很用心，把交往過程中認為重要的紀念品統統帶來，在適時的情況下，這些紀念品就成了最佳的拍攝道具。就算很久以後，紀念品不見了，照片裡還有留有他們美麗的回憶和備份。
最後，在太陽快下山，海風吹起的黃昏，我們的Sophia穿起比基尼。沒錯……比基尼，雖然還有陽光，不過海風是真的頗冷。
一整天，工作超過十個小時，但是我一點都不累，反而很開心和這對隨和及善解人意的新人，以及很會取景的攝影師一起工作。一個月之後，我看到Sophia在FB貼上她的照片，我好感動。照片中的兩個人是這麼快活和開心。祝福Sophia和Mathew永浴愛河。

Sophia & Mattew's prewedding shooting backstage stories I
My friendship with Sophia and Mathew started from a text message a year ago. I got the message sent from the United States in a cold winter morning when I was having breakfast with my mom in Taiwan. We set a date to meet after asking her several simple questions. I like chatting with Sophia because she has an agile voice.
Although photographer Virginia Tu and I never worked together before, we both believed we could make an excellent album because Sophia was very impressive as she treated the pre-wedding photo session seriously. She composed a PowerPoint file to show us their desired style and revised the file whenever she got new idea. We kept communicating with each other through numerous emails and Line messages until the shooting day.
On June 27 2014, we got up early to prepare for our trip to Carmel-by-the-sea, a very romantic town in northern California (http://www.carmelcalifornia.org/things-to-do). Mathew generously reserved a family room for us, so my husband could come along and take my little one to play on the beach when I was working. I went to their room at 8 am the next day to start preparing their first look - Korean style makeup and hairdo. Sophia especially requested me to apply a natural nude makeup and half updo hair. That look matched her baby pink hand-made wedding gown designed in Taiwan perfectly. She looked like a princess from magazines. When we walked along the streets, people no matter tourists or locals complimented the couple, someone even thought we were taking magazine photos. 和Sophia與Matthew的緣份開始於一年多前的一則簡訊。那是一個帶寒意的冬天，早起正在跟家母吃早餐，看到一通從美國來的簡訊。美國時間還早，撥起電話給簡訊的女主人，Sophia，聲音清脆有活力，問了幾個基本的問題之後，就爽快地約了時間。
在拍攝婚紗前，我們都是靠電子郵件、Line溝通，非常認真的她，把她和Mathew要的風格和感覺做成PowerPoint，每次有新的想法就加在file裡，讓我和沒有合作過的攝影師，Virginia Tu，非常的感動，也相信大家一起合作，一定能拍出非常棒的作品。
6/27/2014一大早，我們一家三口早起往夢幻小鎮Carmel-by-the-sea出發。大方的Mathew幫我們訂了家庭房，在我工作時，讓老公帶著一歲多的兒子在海邊玩水堆沙享受親子遊。
隔天一大早，我八點準時出現在他們房間，開始幫這對快樂的新婚夫妻做造型。第一個白紗造型是Sophia指定的韓式小清新，自然有眼神的裸妝，加上俏麗的公主髮型，搭上她在台灣做的baby pink白紗，整個人變得像雜誌裡跳出來的公主，美麗脫俗。走在浪漫的Carmel街頭，路過的旅客或當地的住民不吝嗇地都給這對新婚夫妻讚美，還有人問我們是不是在拍雜誌，還有路人一直狂偷拍咱們漂亮的新娘哩。

Bernice & Kelvin's Wedding in Fremont SF Bay Area
Bernice is a girl with sense of humor and I was happy to work with her the whole day till the end of party without feeling exhausted. She found me from web one year before her wedding. When she called me, she told me she was not satisfied with her previous trial result. To make sure her wedding looks are perfect, she insisted for a makeup trial with me.
She planned the wedding by herself, although she was also busy at work. Sometimes it was hard to find her, and she even forgot I am her bridal makeup and hair stylist …
On her wedding day, I arrived half an hour early because I wanted to give her more time to play the “door games”. Her first gown was Gua (traditional Cantonese wedding dress). I braided her hair up as a flower to match her dress and face shape.
Bernice hired me a full day for touch up and changing two wedding looks. Her bridesmaids were helpful, with their great supports, I spent less time to each hair styling, and made her look shiny and pretty during the reception.
Airbrush makeup is a secret weapon for makeup artist if you can handle it. During the whole day, touch up was done once only, but her makeup remained thin and looked natural. What I did for her was only darker eye shadow and another layer of false eyelashes to match her evening gown!

我的超可愛新娘Bernice，差不多在婚前一年從網路上找到我，而且堅持一定要試妝，她告訴我原因是她之前的試妝不滿意。整個婚禮都是她自己籌劃，不假她人之手，又要工作又要忙婚禮大大小小的事，真的是辛苦她了。
婚禮當天，我提早半個小時到她的飯店，幫她化新娘妝和做髮型，讓她有多的時間可以玩迎娶遊戲。她的第一套服裝是廣東傳統嫁衣，因此我將她的頭髮編成一朵花，不但配合她的儀式，而且也適合她的臉型。
Bernice請我跟妝一整天，事實上她很照顧工作人員，讓我一整天工作都不覺得累，她的伴娘們也相當盡力，隨時幫忙，所以能夠在每次換裝時能快速換好髮型。說到Airbrush makeup，我不得不說: 「這是一個非常好的產品，造型師神器」，跟妝一整天下來，沒有補到幾次妝，但是臉上的妝依然保持又薄又清透，只有在晚宴時加深眼影和睫毛，讓整個眼妝嫵媚以配合晚宴場地和晚禮服。

Tsaiti & Howard's Wedding at The Los Altos History Museum CA
Tsaiti was a very considerate and well-mannered bride. On Yelp, she saw my customer reviews that state I design bridal makeup and bridal hairstyles with a “magic hand.” Immediately afterwards, she called my phone number to make an appointment.
In the weeks leading up to her wedding, we met at a coffee shop to discuss her favorite bridal styles. She let me know all her thoughts about different styles and see her natural, everyday appearance.
She definitely did her homework beforehand, finding plenty of the hottest Korean bridal makeup and hairstyles to show me as a reference. Her research helped me understand her preferences clearly.
We ultimately decided to do her makeup with airbrush, so her skin would be flawless like the skin of a baby. Because she had an oval-shaped face, I combed all of her hair back into a wide updo, and then added a dazzling crystal headband that she provided. Her overall appearance was very fresh and suited to her temperament.

Selina is an experienced and professional makeup artist. Like most of the brides, I checked Yelp and found her. My husband and I went through the pictures on her website. Boy, she has "magic". You will see some pretty amazing before and after pictures which I kindly asked her not to put mine. She totally respects that.
She met up with me in April for my May wedding at a coffee shop. We went through some pictures and discussed about hairstyle and makeup for my wedding. On my wedding day, she showed up 15 minutes early. The whole process is just easy and I got compliments for my makeup, hair and overall look. Pretty Christine's Wedding in SF Bay Area
Christine was a sweet and nice bride. We didn’t have a trial before wedding as Christine trusted in my experience and looked carefully through the before and after photos. She found some makeup and hair images on the web, and we communicated through email as she told me her preferences for the wedding.
On her big day, I came to the location half an hour early to double-confirm with Christine before beginning to style her hair and makeup. She had never experienced airbrush makeup before, so I tried to explain every step of the process thoroughly to her to defuse her tension. The outcome was so wonderful that she received endless compliments throughout the day.

The charge for an experienced Makeup Artist is not a rip-off
Airbrushing makeup is long lasting, light, and formulated to look like your natural skin tone. Any makeup artist using an airbrushing technique on clients should be well-trained and capable of adjusting colors and densities as needed. It is important to me to maintain a cheerful working attitude. I always hope that my brides are able to relax and enjoy my services during the makeup process, while becoming their most beautiful selves and remembering the beauty of their wedding forever.
I found a bride sharing her bad experience with airbrushing makeup in a forum. She complained that a makeup artist ruined her wedding because of her awful makeup skills and an unpleasant working attitude. http://verywed.com/forum/expexch/2773005-1.html
The story from the forum translates in English as follows:
Last month was my engagement ceremony, and everything was perfect except for one thing: I hired a male-lead stylist team to do my bridal hair and makeup. I’m still kicking myself. By writing in this forum I hope to warn future brides so they don’t make the same mistake.
When we started, they boasted that they would be available online to help select the wedding dresses, provide free and long-lasting eyebrow shaping, and provide unlimited makeup trials before the ceremony. In other words, I would get the services of three bridal artists for the price of one.
In reality, they rarely responded in a timely matter. All the help selecting wedding dresses and answering questions was done by an assistant, rather than the main makeup artist. The only time the male makeup artist got involved was in answering difficult questions or signing the contracts.
As for the free eyebrow trimming, I asked for the service just once. I also only did the unlimited makeup trials once, as they did not have time for me. Although I expected a happy trial run, he insisted that he did makeup for lots of models and celebrities so it was not necessary to do a trial. I was unhappy to get his feedback and finally asked him if he was just playing word games. At last he agreed to a very simple trial just two days before my ceremony: a basic half-face airbrushing foundation and hiding the dark circles under my eyes only.
My makeup and hair were totally different from his professional albums. The quality of the hairdo was especially bad. My eyes were not shaped properly; my fake eyelashes were directly stuck on my eyelids. He drew eye lines only using eye shadow and no waterline at all. I did not know if he was unable or too lazy to draw it?
They always put the brides’ first styling in their albums because they spend the most time on it. My last style for the ceremony was horrible. The hairstyle was unattractive, and the tiara on my head was misplaced. The half updo bun was tilted and the curls were imbalanced on each side. I told them I disliked this style, but found that they were able to change it right away.
I was annoyed with a few other things. In the beginning, they told me 3 people would provide the services: one for makeup, one for hair, and one assistant. Actually there were 4. But when I needed someone to help me prepare the dress to step into, none of them could do it. The hairstylists were all wearing their own heavy makeup, having fun playing with the statues in my home, and uploading photos onto social networks. I was speechless: it was as if they were here for fun and dressing up for a night club. When they finally helped me put on the dress, the long ribbons and bows were supposed to be in the back, but the assistant accidentally put them in the front. And I had already sent them pictures from the wedding dress company to show them how it should look!
Their performance was far from the professional standard. With their quality standard, they should charge less expensively and pay more attention to services. My eyes became squint, and my husband did not like his style either. My close friends thought the team did not do a skillful or attentive job. My eyes looked ugly, and their color looked dirty after several touchups. Their immature airbrushing makeup skill sprinkled onto the hair around my temple, so those hairs looked white. He asked the assistant to wipe paint on my temples but it was useless. Even my photographer told me the makeup was totally wrong.
My wedding planner told me to hire a full time bridal makeup artist next time. Hiring separate makeup artists and hairstylists is not a smart choice. A full time bridal makeup artist who does hairstyles at the same time can create and change your wedding look quickly. Such professional performance requires a lot of experience
I wrote this article publicly in the forum to inform other brides who haven’t yet found their bridal makeup artist. The ceremony taught me a bitter lesson. I trusted them too easily, when really there was no full face trial run, no confirmed bridal makeup artist or hairstylist, and only a photo album of models, not regular brides.
As harsh as reality is, some things need to be painted clearly in black and white. But even when they are, they might still bring you more regret!

Patsy's Portrait II : elegant look
The second style of bridal makeup is a great choice for brides who enjoy heavier eye coloring or brides who will wear additioanl evening dresses on their big wedding day. High updos with a tiara are generally well-suited for all brides. This hairstyle was especially suitable for Patsy, as it helped her facial shape appear more oval for overall brial beauty.

Patsy's Protrait I -Vintage look
Patsy's portrait shots were taken on my last makeup artistry excursion to the Taipei office. We came up with 2 different bridal styles for her. The first style embraces a natural look, complete with vintage red lipstick and a 30's revival hairdo. The 2nd style has slight smoky eye-makeup and an elegant updo, topped with an imperial crown.
1st bridal style gave Patsy a sweet, sexy appreance. We used natural, clean-looking makeup with deep red lipstick to demonstrate her innate womanly elegance.
For Patsy's bridal hairdo, we swept her hair back into a low updo, held in place with some dazzling accessories. Combined with her bridal makeup, we felt this bridal look appeared very suitable for a bride selecting to wear a traditional Chinese or Cantonese-origin wedding garment (Qipao or Gua) during her tea party ceremony.

Sophia & Matthew's prewedding backstage story II
I swept her hair to the side to match her red hand-made chi-pao (made in Taiwan too) as the second look. Virginia TU, our experienced photographer, can turn any ordinary background in this small town into beautiful scene. Street corner, restaurant, store window display, coffee shop … became amazing photo background. Sophia and Mathew were not shy in front of the camera, they expressed themselves quite well whenever Virginia cued them.
I hid Sophia’s long hair to make a curly bob hairstyle for her third look to match the short blue Princess Sweetheart Ruffle Beading dress. The shooting spots were Carmel’s must-visit candy house and bread store. They attentively brought their memorable souvenirs as shooting props. Although those properties might be lost in the future, sweet and beautiful memories will be kept in the pre-wedding photos for a very long time.
We went to the beach for the final spot at sunset. It was quite chilly when onshore wind blew past us, but Sophia insisted to wear bikini swimsuit! We happily ended our whole day work of 10 hours, but I was not tired at all. Thanks for this easy going and hospitable young couple, the project was completed smoothly and came out with good photos. A month later, I saw Sophia posted her pre-wedding images on Facebook. I was so moved when I saw my result. The couple looks so joyful and caring. I wish them happy forever.
第二個造型是將頭髮挽到側邊，搭配也是在台灣手工製作的旗袍好有味道。小鎮裡，不管是街角、餐廳的門口、有特色的櫥窗，甚至是餐廳裡面，都可以是經驗老道的攝影師Virginia拍攝的取材，而很會演的這對夫妻，讓每一張照片好生動，工作起來一點都不累。
第三個造型是將Sophia的長髮收成短髮，配上短蓬裙和她長長的美腿。Yes! 取景就是在麵包店和來Carmel必去的糖果屋。他們很用心，把交往過程中認為重要的紀念品統統帶來，在適時的情況下，這些紀念品就成了最佳的拍攝道具。就算很久以後，紀念品不見了，照片裡還有留有他們美麗的回憶和備份。
最後，在太陽快下山，海風吹起的黃昏，我們的Sophia穿起比基尼。沒錯……比基尼，雖然還有陽光，不過海風是真的頗冷。
一整天，工作超過十個小時，但是我一點都不累，反而很開心和這對隨和及善解人意的新人，以及很會取景的攝影師一起工作。一個月之後，我看到Sophia在FB貼上她的照片，我好感動。照片中的兩個人是這麼快活和開心。祝福Sophia和Mathew永浴愛河。

Sophia & Mattew's prewedding shooting backstage stories I
My friendship with Sophia and Mathew started from a text message a year ago. I got the message sent from the United States in a cold winter morning when I was having breakfast with my mom in Taiwan. We set a date to meet after asking her several simple questions. I like chatting with Sophia because she has an agile voice.
Although photographer Virginia Tu and I never worked together before, we both believed we could make an excellent album because Sophia was very impressive as she treated the pre-wedding photo session seriously. She composed a PowerPoint file to show us their desired style and revised the file whenever she got new idea. We kept communicating with each other through numerous emails and Line messages until the shooting day.
On June 27 2014, we got up early to prepare for our trip to Carmel-by-the-sea, a very romantic town in northern California (http://www.carmelcalifornia.org/things-to-do). Mathew generously reserved a family room for us, so my husband could come along and take my little one to play on the beach when I was working. I went to their room at 8 am the next day to start preparing their first look - Korean style makeup and hairdo. Sophia especially requested me to apply a natural nude makeup and half updo hair. That look matched her baby pink hand-made wedding gown designed in Taiwan perfectly. She looked like a princess from magazines. When we walked along the streets, people no matter tourists or locals complimented the couple, someone even thought we were taking magazine photos. 和Sophia與Matthew的緣份開始於一年多前的一則簡訊。那是一個帶寒意的冬天，早起正在跟家母吃早餐，看到一通從美國來的簡訊。美國時間還早，撥起電話給簡訊的女主人，Sophia，聲音清脆有活力，問了幾個基本的問題之後，就爽快地約了時間。
在拍攝婚紗前，我們都是靠電子郵件、Line溝通，非常認真的她，把她和Mathew要的風格和感覺做成PowerPoint，每次有新的想法就加在file裡，讓我和沒有合作過的攝影師，Virginia Tu，非常的感動，也相信大家一起合作，一定能拍出非常棒的作品。
6/27/2014一大早，我們一家三口早起往夢幻小鎮Carmel-by-the-sea出發。大方的Mathew幫我們訂了家庭房，在我工作時，讓老公帶著一歲多的兒子在海邊玩水堆沙享受親子遊。
隔天一大早，我八點準時出現在他們房間，開始幫這對快樂的新婚夫妻做造型。第一個白紗造型是Sophia指定的韓式小清新，自然有眼神的裸妝，加上俏麗的公主髮型，搭上她在台灣做的baby pink白紗，整個人變得像雜誌裡跳出來的公主，美麗脫俗。走在浪漫的Carmel街頭，路過的旅客或當地的住民不吝嗇地都給這對新婚夫妻讚美，還有人問我們是不是在拍雜誌，還有路人一直狂偷拍咱們漂亮的新娘哩。

Bernice & Kelvin's Wedding in Fremont SF Bay Area
Bernice is a girl with sense of humor and I was happy to work with her the whole day till the end of party without feeling exhausted. She found me from web one year before her wedding. When she called me, she told me she was not satisfied with her previous trial result. To make sure her wedding looks are perfect, she insisted for a makeup trial with me.
She planned the wedding by herself, although she was also busy at work. Sometimes it was hard to find her, and she even forgot I am her bridal makeup and hair stylist …
On her wedding day, I arrived half an hour early because I wanted to give her more time to play the “door games”. Her first gown was Gua (traditional Cantonese wedding dress). I braided her hair up as a flower to match her dress and face shape.
Bernice hired me a full day for touch up and changing two wedding looks. Her bridesmaids were helpful, with their great supports, I spent less time to each hair styling, and made her look shiny and pretty during the reception.
Airbrush makeup is a secret weapon for makeup artist if you can handle it. During the whole day, touch up was done once only, but her makeup remained thin and looked natural. What I did for her was only darker eye shadow and another layer of false eyelashes to match her evening gown!

我的超可愛新娘Bernice，差不多在婚前一年從網路上找到我，而且堅持一定要試妝，她告訴我原因是她之前的試妝不滿意。整個婚禮都是她自己籌劃，不假她人之手，又要工作又要忙婚禮大大小小的事，真的是辛苦她了。
婚禮當天，我提早半個小時到她的飯店，幫她化新娘妝和做髮型，讓她有多的時間可以玩迎娶遊戲。她的第一套服裝是廣東傳統嫁衣，因此我將她的頭髮編成一朵花，不但配合她的儀式，而且也適合她的臉型。
Bernice請我跟妝一整天，事實上她很照顧工作人員，讓我一整天工作都不覺得累，她的伴娘們也相當盡力，隨時幫忙，所以能夠在每次換裝時能快速換好髮型。說到Airbrush makeup，我不得不說: 「這是一個非常好的產品，造型師神器」，跟妝一整天下來，沒有補到幾次妝，但是臉上的妝依然保持又薄又清透，只有在晚宴時加深眼影和睫毛，讓整個眼妝嫵媚以配合晚宴場地和晚禮服。

Tsaiti & Howard's Wedding at The Los Altos History Museum CA
Tsaiti was a very considerate and well-mannered bride. On Yelp, she saw my customer reviews that state I design bridal makeup and bridal hairstyles with a “magic hand.” Immediately afterwards, she called my phone number to make an appointment.
In the weeks leading up to her wedding, we met at a coffee shop to discuss her favorite bridal styles. She let me know all her thoughts about different styles and see her natural, everyday appearance.
She definitely did her homework beforehand, finding plenty of the hottest Korean bridal makeup and hairstyles to show me as a reference. Her research helped me understand her preferences clearly.
We ultimately decided to do her makeup with airbrush, so her skin would be flawless like the skin of a baby. Because she had an oval-shaped face, I combed all of her hair back into a wide updo, and then added a dazzling crystal headband that she provided. Her overall appearance was very fresh and suited to her temperament.

Selina is an experienced and professional makeup artist. Like most of the brides, I checked Yelp and found her. My husband and I went through the pictures on her website. Boy, she has "magic". You will see some pretty amazing before and after pictures which I kindly asked her not to put mine. She totally respects that.
She met up with me in April for my May wedding at a coffee shop. We went through some pictures and discussed about hairstyle and makeup for my wedding. On my wedding day, she showed up 15 minutes early. The whole process is just easy and I got compliments for my makeup, hair and overall look. On her big day, I came to the location half an hour early to double-confirm with Christine before beginning to style her hair and makeup. She had never experienced airbrush makeup before, so I tried to explain every step of the process thoroughly to her to defuse her tension. The charge for an experienced Makeup Artist is not a rip-off
Airbrushing makeup is long lasting, light, and formulated to look like your natural skin tone. Any makeup artist using an airbrushing technique on clients should be well-trained and capable of adjusting colors and densities as needed. It is important to me to maintain a cheerful working attitude. I always hope that my brides are able to relax and enjoy my services during the makeup process, while becoming their most beautiful selves and remembering the beauty of their wedding forever.
I found a bride sharing her bad experience with airbrushing makeup in a forum. She complained that a makeup artist ruined her wedding because of her awful makeup skills and an unpleasant working attitude. http://verywed.com/forum/expexch/2773005-1.html
The story from the forum translates in English as follows:
Last month was my engagement ceremony, and everything was perfect except for one thing: I hired a male-lead stylist team to do my bridal hair and makeup. I’m still kicking myself. By writing in this forum I hope to warn future brides so they don’t make the same mistake.
When we started, they boasted that they would be available online to help select the wedding dresses, provide free and long-lasting eyebrow shaping, and provide unlimited makeup trials before the ceremony. In other words, I would get the services of three bridal artists for the price of one.
In reality, they rarely responded in a timely matter. All the help selecting wedding dresses and answering questions was done by an assistant, rather than the main makeup artist. The only time the male makeup artist got involved was in answering difficult questions or signing the contracts.
As for the free eyebrow trimming, I asked for the service just once. I also only did the unlimited makeup trials once, as they did not have time for me. Although I expected a happy trial run, he insisted that he did makeup for lots of models and celebrities so it was not necessary to do a trial. I was unhappy to get his feedback and finally asked him if he was just playing word games. At last he agreed to a very simple trial just two days before my ceremony: a basic half-face airbrushing foundation and hiding the dark circles under my eyes only.
My makeup and hair were totally different from his professional albums. The quality of the hairdo was especially bad. My eyes were not shaped properly; my fake eyelashes were directly stuck on my eyelids. He drew eye lines only using eye shadow and no waterline at all. I did not know if he was unable or too lazy to draw it?
They always put the brides’ first styling in their albums because they spend the most time on it. My last style for the ceremony was horrible. The hairstyle was unattractive, and the tiara on my head was misplaced. The half updo bun was tilted and the curls were imbalanced on each side. I told them I disliked this style, but found that they were able to change it right away.
I was annoyed with a few other things. In the beginning, they told me 3 people would provide the services: one for makeup, one for hair, and one assistant. Actually there were 4. But when I needed someone to help me prepare the dress to step into, none of them could do it. The hairstylists were all wearing their own heavy makeup, having fun playing with the statues in my home, and uploading photos onto social networks. I was speechless: it was as if they were here for fun and dressing up for a night club. When they finally helped me put on the dress, the long ribbons and bows were supposed to be in the back, but the assistant accidentally put them in the front. And I had already sent them pictures from the wedding dress company to show them how it should look!
Their performance was far from the professional standard. With their quality standard, they should charge less expensively and pay more attention to services. My eyes became squint, and my husband did not like his style either. My close friends thought the team did not do a skillful or attentive job. My eyes looked ugly, and their color looked dirty after several touchups. Their immature airbrushing makeup skill sprinkled onto the hair around my temple, so those hairs looked white. He asked the assistant to wipe paint on my temples but it was useless. Even my photographer told me the makeup was totally wrong.
My wedding planner told me to hire a full time bridal makeup artist next time. Hiring separate makeup artists and hairstylists is not a smart choice. A full time bridal makeup artist who does hairstyles at the same time can create and change your wedding look quickly. Such professional performance requires a lot of experience
I wrote this article publicly in the forum to inform other brides who haven’t yet found their bridal makeup artist. The ceremony taught me a bitter lesson. I trusted them too easily, when really there was no full face trial run, no confirmed bridal makeup artist or hairstylist, and only a photo album of models, not regular brides.
As harsh as reality is, some things need to be painted clearly in black and white. But even when they are, they might still bring you more regret!

Patsy's Portrait II : elegant look
The second style of bridal makeup is a great choice for brides who enjoy heavier eye coloring or brides who will wear additioanl evening dresses on their big wedding day. High updos with a tiara are generally well-suited for all brides. This hairstyle was especially suitable for Patsy, as it helped her facial shape appear more oval for overall brial beauty.

Patsy's Protrait I -Vintage look
Patsy's portrait shots were taken on my last makeup artistry excursion to the Taipei office. We came up with 2 different bridal styles for her. The first style embraces a natural look, complete with vintage red lipstick and a 30's revival hairdo. The 2nd style has slight smoky eye-makeup and an elegant updo, topped with an imperial crown.
1st bridal style gave Patsy a sweet, sexy appreance. We used natural, clean-looking makeup with deep red lipstick to demonstrate her innate womanly elegance.
For Patsy's bridal hairdo, we swept her hair back into a low updo, held in place with some dazzling accessories. Combined with her bridal makeup, we felt this bridal look appeared very suitable for a bride selecting to wear a traditional Chinese or Cantonese-origin wedding garment (Qipao or Gua) during her tea party ceremony.
嘉玲的藝術照是在台北工作室的最後一個告別作品。總共幫她做了2個造型: 第一個是淡妝配上鮮艷紅唇，搭配30年代的復古髮型。第二個造型，強調眼妝和眼型，半煙燻眼妝，再加上梳高髮髻配上女王般的皇冠。
